Recorder 6 Annual Licence
An annual licence fee for the Recorder 6 species recording software was introduced in 2019. The licence covers the financial year (1 April – 31 March) and provides access to:

• Dictionary updates
• New application releases

You may continue using your existing copy of Recorder 6 without paying the fee, but you will not receive further updates. Information on how to purchase a new copy of Recorder 6 is available on the Recorder 6 Consortium website.

Licence Fees for 2025–2026
The fees remain unchanged for this year:

• Organisations with permanent paid employees: £250 (covers all copies/site IDs within the organisation)
• Individuals and voluntary organisations without permanent paid employees: £25 per copy (site ID)

Please note: ALERC is VAT registered and Recorder 6 license are subject to VAT at the standard rate.

Information Required Before You Purchase
Please have the following details ready:

• Site ID (Copy Identifier) – shown on the Welcome screen when you log into Recorder 6, or via Help > Summary Info.
• Recorder 6 version number – found under Help > About Recorder 6 (first version number listed, beginning with ‘6’).
• Purchase Order Number (if paying by invoice).
• Invoice contact email address – where invoices should be sent.

How to Purchase or Renew Your Licence

1. Complete the Recorder 6 License purchase/renewal form by clicking the link below.
2. You may pay by card or you can request an invoice.
3. If you pay by card you will be able to download your license key once payment has been made 
4. If you choose to pay by invoice we will issue an invoice by email.  Payment must be made in full before a licence key can be issued.

Please keep a copy of your licence key, as it is required to access Recorder 6 dictionary updates and future releases.
